Supply Drop Addiction

Call of Duty makers finally found an answer to a growing problem in the COD franchise. The only revenue a company used to collect from creating a video game was through initial sales of the game itself. Call of Duty games have traditionally been released in November, right before the holidays. Activision and other COD makers would see a huge boost in sales at the end of every year, but that's it. So how can video game makers keep squeezing money from players during the entire year? The answer: supply drops.

First introduced in Advanced Warfare in 2014, supply drops allowed the gamer to play a lottery to "win" better weapons, cooler camos, and stylish virtual gear. Sledgehammer Games, the creator of AW, put this feature in the game as an added bonus to players who either played the game a lot (and earned 'keys' to open supply drops with each match played), or spent actual money on "COD Points". Each opening of a supply drop yielded three items of various rarity. Players could use their virtual 'keys' or COD points to open a common (smaller chance of getting a rare item) or a rare (larger chance of getting a rare item) supply drop. With each opening, players received items to further customize their character or weapon to show off to their friends... and that's why supply drops were so successful (and honestly, quite brilliant). The video game creators tapped into the competitive and somewhat immature minds of gamers. Players could now circumvent the arduous task of getting 250 headshots to get a rare camo by purchasing more COD points. It took time and skill out of the equation in exchange for money. Thus, cash came pouring in.

Supply drops became so successful that Treyarch and Infinity Ward, the creators of Black Ops III and Infinite Warfare respectively, continued with trend. Call of Duty franchise makers could now continue to earn revenue throughout the life of the game, instead of just when a person buys the game at the store. According to Activision's Q4 2016 earnings call, the company made an additional $3.6bn through in-game content sales (mostly from COD: Black Ops III and Overwatch). That's unbelievable!

Some gamers might say that supply drops are ruining the game, however. I happen to agree - especially for the newest CoD game, Infinite Warfare. In Infinite Warfare, weapon variants, or different (and statistically better) versions of guns, make playing public matches much more frustrating. For example, the Erad used to be one of my favorite guns in the game. I played with the common (base) variant, and I was pretty good with it... until I came face-to-face with a player who had the legendary (rarest) variant of the gun - called the 'cyclopean'. It literally shoots a LASER BEAM instead of regular bullets. I didn't stand a chance. I was insta-killed time and time again by the same player. I became so frustrated with this one match that I ended up not using my Erad stock variant ever again. I knew that if I wanted a chance of winning gun battles, I needed legendary weapon variants, which are quite difficult to come by without opening supply drops.

Supply drops are a hot topic in the Call of Duty community. They have been wildly successful for the video game creators, as cash has never been more abundant; however, they give an unfair advantage to players who spend the most money. I like the old days of CoD4 where the only way to get the rare camos, was to play the game and hone your skill, not by buying your way to rarer items.

Clothes Accuracy in Visual to Visual Adaptations

There have been many video games that have been adapted to movies. With these adaptations, there would usually be a main character that has a costume based on someone from the video game itself. Whether these are the same character, a familiar face, or someone completely unrelated, how the person being focused on matters to the movie adaptation's reception. Some notable adaptations that I would want to look at is Hitman and Assassin's Creed.
In Hitman, the star of the show is a hitman known as Agent 47. 47 has showed up in nine games: Hitman Codename 47, Hitman Silent Assassin, Hitman Contracts, Hitman Blood Money, Hitman Trilogy which is a re-release of the previous three, Hitman Absolution, Hitman Go which is a mobile game imagining, Hitman Sniper, and a 2016 reboot just titled 'Hitman'. 47 happens to have two films under his belt which gives some more to compare to.
Both of the Hitman films feature Agent 47 and costume-wise, it is hard to mess up. Things to look for are a bald head, a bar code tattoo on the back of head, a black suit with a red tie and white shirt, and possibly two silver pistols. Timothy Olyphant from the 2007 film displays all of these. Rupert Friend from the 2015 film also shows all of these. Easy costume equals easy costume accuracy.
In Assassin's Creed, the main star tends to change between a few games. The games and their respective main characters I will be looking at are: Assassin's Creed's Altair, Assassin's Creed 2's Ezio Auditore, and Assassin's Creed 3's Connor Keyway. The protagonists, while different people from different times, do share a few qualities because of the group they belong to. These attributes are white robes with a big hood enough to obscure face, long sleeves, flowy leg length cloth that are not part of the costume's pants, and a retractable arm blade on the left arm. There has only been one film in the series, but many games, so a few comparisons can still be made.
Michael Fassbender plays the titular assassin in the movie adaptation for Assassin's Creed. Fassbender's costume contains black robes with a big hood, dual arm blades, flowing leg length cloth, and long sleeves. Of these major costume choices, the differences are in the color of the robe and the extra arm blade. The arm blade difference though can be ignored because Ezio contains dual blades in most of his promotional art. Costume accuracy is mostly covered except for not wearing traditional white. Adaptation is accepted.

Devil May Cry V Massive Leak

Devil May Cry V has been leaked. Capcoms hack 'n' slash franchise game Devil May Cry has been a popular game since our childhood. It first came on Ps2 which was a success leading it to become a franchise. The last Devil May Cry game was Devil May Cry 4 which was released on 2008 and a reboot of DMC was made on 2013.

Since then there has been no solid news about a new Devil May Cry V title except for the DMC4 SE and the DMC definitive edition which are the rebooted version of DMC4 SE and DMC game. Fans have been waiting for a long time to hear something from the Devil May Cry franchise director Hideaki Itsuno to announce a new game but there has been no news. He tweeted about his new game which is going smoothly which can be DMC 5 but there is no proof.

Recently a huge Devil May Cry V leak has surfaced which has potential details about the new Devil may cry game, its story, characters, development and more. The leak was posted by ResetEra user named Son of Sparda who said he will accept the permanent ban if this leak turns out to be fake.

Release date and production

The game is to be released in sometime in the fiscal year of 2019 which means between the year of 2018 and 2019.

Originally Devil May Cry V was intended to be announced at Sony PSX event on December 8 but after receiving feedback Sony will announce the new game at E3 2018.

There will be a demo version of the game which will be playable before the game's release.

This will be the highest time a DMC game was in development which is around 5 years. The development of the game is progressing smoothly to avoid any mistakes.

This time Sony is paying for some of the funding which might make this title a PS4 exclusive for a short period of time. It can be a ps4 exclusive, console exclusive or a timed exclusive.

This time the DMC V title is said to be 'ambitious' with a broader appeal.

DMC V will contain the longest cutscene time of all the DMC game.

A trailer has been ready for a while now. The initial trailer is 1 minute 50 seconds long. The trailer is mostly focused on the story, characters, and gameplay. A city like setting is shown in the trailer much like Fortuna city in DMC4.

Development Team

Itsunos team which made previous DMC games is also making this new game.

Yuji Shimomura is returning as the cutscene director who worked on DMC3, 4 and Bayonetta cutscenes.

Voice actor for Dante is Reuben Langdon, for Nero is Johny Young Bosch and for Vergil is Dan Southworth.

Onyay Pheori is helping with the soundtrack.

No word on the actresses who played Trish and Lady if they will be returning or not is unknown.

Characters and Story

DMCV picks up the story right from where the DMC 4 left off.

More than one player is playable being Dante and Nero and the third character is unknown but it will be Vergil. Up to 3 playable characters have been suggested for now.

Trish has a prominent role in DMC5, but she is playable or not it is unknown.

Character switch during key story points in the game.

The 'prince of darkness' is featured in the game as the main antagonist of the story.

No word on whether Vergil will be playable or not.

DMC5 might be the end of the "son of Sparda" storyline.

GAMEPLAY

Console is targeted for 60 frames per second like the previous DMC games.

There is no stamina bar.

There will be some areas where you will face more enemies then you are used to in DMC games.

Missions and ranking systems similar to previous DMC games.Bosses being ramped up dramatically in DMCV. One of the boss fights moves between multiple areas of the game.

Camera pulls back during big fights. The devs are really proud of the new dynamic camera system.

There is some online integration but no multiplayer PVP.

Dodge system is reworked and dodging, in general, is supposed to be a lot smoother than before.

Enemies will react a bit different depending on the style.

There is some dynamic environment destruction/transformation in play but not on the scale of Dmc thus far.

Level design and exploration in Devil May Cry is similar to Bayonetta with action set pieces thrown in there but without QTE or quick time event. QTE's, in general, don't exist in DMC games.

Animations are being improved to be less stiff.

While Devil May Cry V will not be an open world game, some inspirations have been taken from Dragon's Dogma.

So guys take this information with a grain of salt because there is no original announcement from CAPCOM. But the announcement will be in E3 2018. So let's just hope its true.
